Emerging Media: Prevalence and Impact in the Workplace

The competitiveness of U.S. firms is a direct result of the productivity of its workforce. It is well documented that manufacturing has been the main beneficiary of tremendous gains in productivity due to technology. It is less clear what impact the technology revolution has had on the productivity of nonmanufacturing workers. Despite the lack of evidence on effectiveness, emerging media technology has become ubiquitous in most offices and institutions.
